A sample letter to send to clubs regarding your tournament/festival of football:

Dear Club Secretary,

I am writing to invite you and your team to the (INSERT CLUB NAME) small-sided football tournament to be held on (INSERT DATE) at (INSERT VENUE AND ADDRESS)

(IF OVER TWO DAYS ETC, PUT IN DETAILS OF WHICH AGE GROUPS PLAY ON WHICH DAY)

(INSERT SQUAD SIZE)


Players must be of the appropriate age group for the (INSERT SEASON) season.

The entry fee is £(INSERT PRICE) per team.

In accordance with FA rules, the Under 7s and Under 8s will not be playing for trophies, and will participate in a football festival. No results will be collected for the under 7s and under 8s or published and therfore no league tables will be produced. (DELETE IF TOURNAMENT / FESTIVAL DOES NOT INVOLVED UNDER 7s OR UNDER 8s)

INSERT TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

Places will be confirmed upon receipt of payment. The tournament rules will be issued with confirmation.

Please return application forms to: (INSERT CLUB SECRETARY / TOURNAMENT ORGANISERS ADDRESS)

Please make all cheques payable to: (CLUB NAME). Payment must be received before a team(s) can be entered.

I am writing to invite you and your team to the Bessacarr FC small-sided football tournament to be held on Saturday 6th June and Sunday 7th June 2009 at Hatchell Wood Primary School, Cantley, Doncaster.

The U7s & U8s tournament will take place on Saturday 6th June 2009
The U9s & U10s tournament will take place on Sunday 7th June 2009.

The U7s will play five-a-side and will be allowed a maximum of eight players per team.
All other age groups will play seven-a-side and will be allowed a maximum of ten players per team.

Players must be of the appropriate age group for the 2008/09 season.

The entry fee is £18 per team.

For the under 9s and under 10s there will be two groups of five teams for all the age groups, with the top two going through to the semi-final.
